We held a PSA Grower Training workshop on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Self-Help Federal Credit Union. The workshop was led by trainers from the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE). To meet the language needs of our farmer clients, we provided Hmong interpretation services and contracted a Lao interpreter.
The ultimate goal of this workshop was to enhance farmers’ understanding of safe food practices, such as ensuring that there is no cross contamination when transporting produce from the farm to the sales site. In total, we were able to help over ten Southeast Asian farmers become PSA certified!
We hope that all attendees were able to strengthen their knowledge on this topic! We’d like to thank UCCE for leading the workshop; Self-Help Federal Credit Union for providing us with a space; and our interpreters for promoting a sense of inclusion. This is not our last PSA Grower Training workshop of the year; please continue reading to learn more about the next one!
